Summer holidays as a stay-at-home parent who happens to be an entrepreneur
In my neck of the woods, it is the summer school holidays. As a stay-at-home parent, I have to schedule my work around the children. The day plan involves waking up before 5 am and planning lots of activities for the little ones. Did I forget to mention the daily preparation of three nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)? It’s a privilege that I do not take for granted.
How to make a website in less than an hour without having to code.
How are you getting along with your online business? This week I have been making some tech tutorials videos. The topic is ‘How to make a website in less than an hour without code’. It’s a winner! I was pleasantly surprised to discover that you can have a complete website at the touch of a button. I love how technology makes things so simple. More on the website tutorials soon.
How do you define yourself? Is it limiting your ability to achieve your dreams?
My challenge for you this weekend is to think about how you define yourself. Last year this time, I started referring to myself as an online business owner. I had, after all, a website, a growing email list and a socialmedia presence. There is power in the spoken word because as I continually referred to myself as a business owner. I started behaving like one. I had mentally shifted my identity, and that shifted my behaviour.
I help parent build their dream online business so that they can have the time freedom
Yes! I started waking up very early so that I could start my day in peak flow. I came up with a routine around my children that enabled me to set aside time to be present and focus on building my online business. I had my work hours. I dressed for work, even when the whole world was in loungewear. I invested in my company and upgraded from free packages to the ‘Pro’ versions to enjoy more benefits and time freedom.
Today, I can confidently say that I am an online business entrepreneur. I help people build their online dream business and still have the time flexibility to be the best ever parents. I was even able to narrow down my target audience. I found my niche and found my voice.
What is your identity shift statement?
What is your ‘I am’ definition of yourself? Start defining yourself as the person you want to be, and you will start becoming that person. Remember, an identity shift will shift your behaviour.
